Muhammad Shakeel Ishtiaq
DC12

Muhammad Shakeel is a Doctoral Candidate (DC12) in the DN–AERIALIST project. As part of WP4, his research focuses on enhancing biosignal-based assistive communication systems through improved surface EMG signal analysis. He develops algorithms to accurately detect intentional user commands, aiming to reduce error rates and improve system performance in real-world conditions. His work also investigates potential metrics to monitor disease progression in neurodegenerative disorders such as ALS, contributing to more reliable and user-centered assistive technologies.

Muhammad obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Riphah International University, Islamabad, graduating with distinction and receiving the Chancellor’s Gold Medal. His background includes biopotential data acquisition and analysis, with research interests in biomedical signal/image processing and healthcare technology development.
