Matteo Antonino Caruso is a Doctoral Candidate at the BioRobotics Group, CSIC. He graduated in Biomedical Engineering and is passionate about advancing human-centered rehabilitation and assistive technologies. As part of the DN–AERIALIST project, his research focuses on developing biomimetic control strategies for muscle recruitment via neuromuscular stimulation to enhance support in wearable robotic systems. His journey began with projects in health tech and robotics, including assistive robots.
He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Politecnico di Milano, exploring AI and motion analysis to create adaptive solutions. His thesis designed a feedback system to guide patients in performing rehabilitation exercises accurately and independently at home.
His interests include wearable systems, AI-driven healthcare, functional electrical stimulation, and devices to improve quality of life.
